Walking Ix (ee`sh): In the Mayan Oracle, Ix represents "integrity, heart-knowing, alignment with divine will, magician, shaman, jaguar, night seer, priest, torch bearer, magic." When I asked the Oracle what Star-Glyph represented my purpose in this website, Ix was the answer.

Holding fast to the qualities of Ix, this journal chronicles my spiritual path. On the path, I will occasionally write organized essays on spiritual subjects, those will appear under Pieces below.

shedding & simplification

I had a moment of clarity last week that I need to shed the harmful/blocking things in my life. You can read the original post at "Shedding" on My Journal. Since my goal is to clear space and the flow of energy in my life, I am going to start logging my progress in this endeavor on *this* Journal. I will include not only those things I shed, but also those activities that organize, streamline, or avoid the temptation to bring in more clutter that would only have to be shed later.

Week of August 21-27:

  1. Opened a Savings account and set up direct deposit from my paycheck
  2. Went through two shelves of books and pulled 15-20 to be sold/donated
  3. Went through one box of stored magazines*
  4. Cut my hair & purchased new shampoo & condition to help keep it healthy
  5. Resisted buying an adorable stuffed ladybug
  6. Resisted several offers made on the freecycle elist that, in the recent past, I would have wanted as they would be useful "someday"

    * the procedure for going through magazines is as follows: determine which magazines to keep intact, which to give away/throw away, which to examine for articles to read and which to put in the collage pile; after going through the examination pile and tearing out all articles to read, put in the collage pile. Some magazine are also given to boy to extract his interested articles before going to the collage pile.

Since the original impetus to "shedding" came on a Saturday, I am using that day as the start of the week. I hope that each week's log will get longer and I'll start breaking it up to a daily log. Of course, the ultimate goal is to have shed all extraneous things and not need a log.
