Walking Ix (ee`sh):
In the Mayan Oracle, Ix represents "integrity, heart-knowing, alignment with divine will, magician, shaman, jaguar, night seer, priest, torch bearer, magic." When I asked the Oracle what Star-Glyph represented my purpose in this website, Ix was the answer.
Holding fast to the qualities of Ix, this journal chronicles my spiritual path. On the path, I will occasionally write organized essays on spiritual subjects, those will appear under Pieces below.

a note
I don't believe in New Year's resolutions. However, I have made a commitment to myself to do better at updating my various journals online. This is something I've been working on for the past month or more on my main journal and am now expanding to this one. The timing is just coincidental. (I've also been working on maintaining my offline journal since early December.)
I'm formulating something I want to write about "new age" ideas. At a meeting in mid-December I realized that some people approach spirituality as an intellectual study, similar to anthropology. They then evaluate the beliefs of other cultures. While I've always felt uneasy hearing or reading some new age views, I hadn't put together that it was this approach that bothered me. As if spirituality is something you can discover with an intellectual distance. As if a culture could be validated by some pontificating "expert" telling everyone X had the right idea after all. As if reading about the way a "primitive" society lives their life can convey what actually happens inside their minds and souls and teach you how to do the same. Grrrr.... I have more and specific examples, but it's still percolating into a full entry/essay. I hope it will reach a mature form sometime in the next few days.
