Walking Ix (ee`sh): In the Mayan Oracle, Ix represents "integrity, heart-knowing, alignment with divine will, magician, shaman, jaguar, night seer, priest, torch bearer, magic." When I asked the Oracle what Star-Glyph represented my purpose in this website, Ix was the answer.

Holding fast to the qualities of Ix, this journal chronicles my spiritual path. On the path, I will occasionally write organized essays on spiritual subjects, those will appear under Pieces below.

My boi insists we are spiritually equal and that is why the relationship is beyond "simple" ownership. I sometimes feel that she is more evolved on her path than I. She has a spiritual mentor (and this isn't the first one) that she works with on a regular basis. She is aware of her healing and intuitive skills and growing skill in using them. She advises me as often (if not more often) as I do her. We have many things in common in the way we view the universe. We use the same language. The important thing is not that we are equal or which is the advisor. What matters is that we're both on our own paths and, finally, those paths are merging into a journey we'll share.

I find myself repeating that I am not a ritualist. This is important to me because her mentor is one. I came from the Catholic Church and do miss the ritual involved. I tried several wiccan traditions when I first identified myself as pagan. They weren't me. I encountered other traditions that involve ritual and rite. While all appealed on a surface level, the infatuation didn't last. I use stones and scents and smoke and visualization. However, I don't use spells or prayer or sets of symbols and actions. I connect to the universal energies directly -- and sometimes very, very quickly. I cleanse my apartment simply, but with strength of purpose and energy. I raise my shields in an instant, not in a process of breathing and chanting and visualizing. I strengthen the protection around mysElf with thought and energy, not prayers and symbols and walking a certain direction.

I understand that some people resonate with ritual. It is how they connect to the universal energies. Just as some people need organized religion to connect to their god/dess. Just as some people use exercise or art or lovemaking to find their god/dess space. I'm a simple person. I have a few symbols that are important to me. I have some knowledge of stone majick and aromotherapy/incense. However, I tend to trust mysElf rather than what some book or teacher tells me a stone is "good for". I try to keep my connection to my higher sElf and guides clear, if quiet. When needed, I tap into it and trust what they tell me. I have faith that it's about them and me and the universal us. Symbols and rituals speak their language to others, not to me.
